Time Enough at Last

Time Enough at Last is an episode of the TV series The Twilight Zone. It was a story about a bank taller and avid bookworm who was alone in his world after surviving explosions and finally had all the time he needs to do what he wants. However, he was suddenly virtually blinded as his very thick eyeglasses were broken as he stumbled while picking up a book.

If I were to make an adaptation of this, it would be:

A middle-aged man is addicted to computer games. He and his wife would always quarrel over his addiction. He brings his laptop with him wherever he goes and even during sleeping time. His wife would always disturb when he plays in his laptop. His wife couldn't take it anymore so his wife thought of destroying his games. His wife said that she needs to use his laptop to do some office work. Later, he found out that his wife deleted all the games in his laptop. He was so angry and frustrated that he wanted to separate from his wife.

The next day, he goes to a mall and goes directly to a computer shop where his gaming will not be disturbed. Moments after he sees an article on the web, which reads “Atomic Bombs Capable of Total Destruction”, an enormous explosion outside the mall violently shakes the computer shop, knocking him and everyone inside the shop unconscious.  He regains his consciousness and finds out that everyone is dead. He goes back home and sees the dead body of his wife. Finding himself totally alone and depressed of the death of his beloved one, he succumbs to despair. He finds a knife and thinks of committing suicide. However, he suddenly sees his laptop with a note which reads “Honey, I saved a back-up file for your games before I deleted it. I am so sorry.” He cries aloud as he turns on his laptop. He thinks that he should live for his wife and for the games that were recovered courtesy of his wife. After a few minutes, the low battery warning pops up. Just as he plugs in the charger, it sparks and the electricity all over the world is gone. He bursts into tears and says, “That's not fair. That's not fair at all. There was time now. There was all the time I needed...! That's not fair!" After that, he decides to follow his wife to the other side of the world and he uses the knife he found before.
